Good design makes a product useful. A product is bought to be used. It has to satisfy certain criteria, not only functional, but also psychological and aesthetic.

Washington apple growers hold themselves to a higher standard
Washington’s apple orchards are nestled in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains at elevations from 500 to 3,000 feet above sea level. At the turn of the 19th century, American settlers came to the area, the traditional gathering grounds and reservation lands of the Colville Tribes and Yakama Nation tribal people.
